TRAUMA THERAPY INTEGRATIVE AND SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPY HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY MIND BODY SPIRIT CONNECTION
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with a background in health psychology and a specialism in trauma recovery. My work focuses on supporting individuals and communities who live with the long-term effects of trauma and chronic health conditions such as persistent pain, syndromes, and autoimmune disorders.
The landmark Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Study demonstrated how early adversity can profoundly affect health and wellbeing throughout life. To meet the needs of clients facing these challenges, I have developed expertise in working with developmental trauma, complex trauma, and ancestral/ intergenerational trauma.
My approach is mind–body focused and informed by the latest developments in neuroscience. I combine talk-based therapy with somatic (body-based) psychotherapy and touch therapy to improve nervous system regulation and support trauma processing. I also draw upon approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR).
Alongside trauma work, I help clients navigate the emotional and physical challenges of living with chronic health conditions, while also exploring genuine meaning in their healing journey.
Many people do not immediately connect their symptoms or conditions with trauma. Trauma is complex and so is chronic illness. Yet trauma is not always what we most typically perceive it to be. To learn a little more, visit my Trauma page.
